Activity and Calorie Use Calculator
Use this calculator as a general guide to help determine how many calories your body will burn during an activity. Activities are calculated using a moderate, as opposed to a vigorous, workout. Exercising harder and faster makes only a slight increase in the calories used. It is better to exercise for a longer period of time to burn more calories.
Determining how many calories you burn is not an exact science. This number should only be used as an estimate of calorie expenditure.
The most sensible way to lose weight is to eat less and exercise more. All the food we eat, whether "low fat" food or "low carb" food or "high protein" food, all have calories. The more calories you eat, the more energy your body must burn in order to maintain a healthy weight. The carbohydrates, fats, and proteins in food...supply energy, which is also measured in calories. Foods that are high in fat are also high in calories.
Click on the button below to determine the amount of calories, fat, protein and carbohydrates in the foods that you eat. If you the food item you enter cannot be found, try limiting the search criteria, ie: "steak" rather than "4oz steak".
