Girard, Ohio – The Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) just released information for the ESRD program, the DME industry, and the competitive bidding program.  The ruling proposes changes to bidding and pricing methodologies under the DMEPOS competitive bidding program (CBP); adjustments to DMEPOS Fee Schedule amounts using information from competitive bidding for items furnished on or after January 1, 2019. Beginning on January 1, 2019, beneficiaries may receive DMEPOS items from any willing supplier until CMS provides further information about the DMEPOS CBP in the future.

Boardman Medical Supply will now be able to supply DME Equipment to beneficiaries formerly under the CBP program.  All traditional Medicare beneficiaries will be accepted at BMS as of January 1, 2019.  Medicare HMO & PPO beneficiaries are currently covered and accepted at BMS. All traditional Medicare oxygen and oxygen equipment beneficiaries, including former BMS patients, are urged to take action now by calling BMS toll free at 1-800-443-3390 so they can receive uninterrupted service to their oxygen care, commencing January 1, 2019.
